Development and Physique
of Mentally Retarded Children
Satellite Conference in Tiszaföldvár

Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to invite you to participate at a two-day satellite conference in Tiszaföldvár just after the EAA Congress.

Tiszaföldvár is a city, near the Tisza river, about 120 km South-East from Budapest. One district of it is called Homok. There is an institution at this place for more than 200 mentally retarded children. The so-called Homok Longitudinal Growth Study has been carried on here for thirty years among these pupils. One of the aims of this conference is to summarize the results of this study.

We are going to discuss:

the growth, body development and the physique of mentally retarded children in connection with the seriousness of mental retardation
the influence of the different aetiological factors of mental retardation on the growth, body development and the physique of mentally retarded children
the changes of physique and physical fitness in the growth process
the physique and physical fitness of mentally retarded adults in connection with their professional career.

Lectures on these topics are welcome.

The price of this satellite conference is about 130 Euro, including the written material, bus transfer from Budapest to Tiszaföldvar and back, accommodation, meal and some social programs.
